Zen Internet prepares for increased Olympics traffic

UK ISP Zen Internet is preparing its network for the expected increase in traffic resulting from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The company insists that it will retain its no Fair Usage Policy (FUP) and will not implement traffic shaping. It has also taken steps to ensure adequate staffing levels during the games. This includes cutting the number of employees that can be on holiday at any one time; reviewing shift patterns to identify where it needs to add additional resource during the predicted peak periods; and maximising the availability of customer facing team employees by minimising meetings, rescheduling training courses and limiting time spent on projects.
